Every year after Labor Day there’s the big debate – can you wear white after Labor Day? The answer is yes with some parameters. The old adage no white after Labor Day has taken a back seat to…well, practicality. With temperatures in the 90s and 80s across the country and the summer sun still shining bright, it is no wonder people are finally questioning this ‘old-fashioned’ idea. There are of course certain white fabrics that come off as too summery that you should retire for the season, but the actual color is one that can be worn throughout the year. At MyScoop we celebrate the liberation of our favorite color! Here are 10 rules on wearing white after Labor Day:
Shoes – Put the white shoes and white sandals away, but keep sporting the sneakers and if you feel bold rock some white leather boots or booties.

Dresses – White dresses are still beautiful after Labor Day. In lightweight fabrics wear white dresses for a few weeks after Labor Day and begin to pair them with boots, booties, and closed toe shoes. In moderate weight fabrics begin to pair your white dress with a leather jacket and other fall accessories as the weather begins to get chilly. Then opt for a heavier duty fabric in winter white or ivory for colder months.

White Blazer – A white blazer in a moderate weight fabric has a longer wear life during the year than other white pieces because it can act as an accessory for an outfit. Throw it on with jeans or over a jumpsuit as we go into fall and if it is made of a heavier fabric like tweed it will certainly make its way into winter.
